  Description

Our client, a leader oil and gas exploration and production, seeks exceptional geophysicists and geologists exhibiting qualities needed to function well in an ever-changing arena, with other energized and multitasking team members.  The selected Candidate will be well versed in deep-water and sub-salt assets, with experience in the GoM and seismic inversion interpretation and data analysis.  This successful individual will be highly creative and work in both an individual capacity as well as being a strong contributor to a dynamic team.


 

 
 Requirements

Experience in deep-water Gulf of Mexico required.
Masters in Geology or Geophysics, or a Bachelors with experience equivalent to a Masters level, as well as 10 or more years of oil and gas development and production or similar experience within a technology team environment.

Unix or Linux seismic interpretation, analysis and modeling software skills, particularly interpreting 4D information used to create simulations. 
Evaluation of seismic data for hydrocarbon, forecasting and recommendation of potential new efforts for exploration.
Individual must have successful prospecting experience and able to mature prospects to a drill ready status.


Other needed skills/competencies include:

Has the ability to work closely with diverse individuals within the team to include drilling teams, technical support groups, geologists, modellers and engineers.
Able to provide leadership on tasks requiring depth of knowledge in geology and geophysics.

Prior experience conducting AVO modeling and fluid substitution.
Solid documentation and technical writing abilities are paramount.

Able to produce detailed velocity models and provide precise depth conversions.
Provide assistance and mentor junior level staff.
